F. F. Nac. 1966
Title of the play: Melody of Rain

Michael Cheval is the world's most important contemporary artist, specializing in absurd paintings, drawings, and portraits. In its definition, absurdity is an inverted side or a reality, an inverse side of logic. It doesn't arise from the dreams of surrealists nor from the work of the subconscious. It's a game of imagination, where all bonds are carefully chosen to build a literary plot. Any of Michael Chevals paintings is a map of their journey into illusion. His work is often metaphorical and requires a keen eye to decipher often hidden allusions.
Born in 1966 in Kotelnikovo, a small town in southern Russia, Michael Cheval developed a passion for early childhood art. When his family moved to Germany in 1980, Western European culture made a big impression on the young artist. In 1986, he moved to Turkmenistan and graduated from Ashgabad Fine Arts School. Absorbing East philosophy and character from Central Asia, he began working as a professional independent artist, shaping his surreal style and direction. His decision to migrate in 1997 to the United States began a new era for the artist. He returned to Western culture that inspired him a lot in his German youth, but now he brought his own experience, philosophy, and vision.
In 1998, Cheval became a member of the prestigious New Yorks National Arts Club, where he was awarded the Exhibition Committee Award in 2000. He is also a member of the Society for Art of Imagination since 2002. Cheval released two albums Full-color art in 2004 and Nature of Absurdity in 2007. Her work is internationally acclaimed and can often be seen in US galleries. USA and abroad.
