Where is the ancient city of Troy?

Troy is a Greek name, and it is a maritime city known for its strategic location, wealth, and a wooden horse.  It said that it is located in Turkey in the far northwest, specifically in an area known today as Anatolia. Before we talk about Troy's city and the wooden horse's trick, let us talk about the legendary story that started with it.

According to the Odyssey and Elijah epics, the whole story begins after a fortune teller prophesied that Troy's king would have a son who would be the cause of the destruction of the city of Troy. According to the epic, when Paris was born, the king ordered to get rid of him, but no, he did not kill him, but he left in the wild, and Paris grew up as a shepherd. Years pass, and a tremendous verbal altercation takes place on the Olympus mountain, which according to the Greek beliefs, the Greek gods live in a large palace on its summit. This argument happened between Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera because of their disagreement over who was the most beautiful. They decided to take the opinion of the first stranger they encountered. Who was this stranger? Yes, young Paris, son of the king of Troy. Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera asked Paris to give the most beautiful among them an apple. Aphrodite seduced Paris that she would grant him the most beautiful women on earth to choose her, while Athena tempted him with wisdom and glory. As for Hera, she deceived him with authority. Who chose Paris? It is true, he chose to have the most beautiful women on earth, so Paris gave Aphrodite the apple and put an end to an argument that raged wildly. What do you think happened next? Aphrodite took Paris to Troy, his place of birth, to restore his right to be the king's son, and this is what happened. After the king confessed him, Aphrodite took Paris to Sparta, where he was dazzled by the beauty of Helen, the wife of the king of Sparta, so he kidnapped her and returned with her to Troy, taking advantage of her husband's absence, and here was the breaking point. The war has begun.

The Greeks' army went to Troy, destroying everything on its way from cities, stone, trees, and people until it reached the intended city (Trojan). The army of the Greeks tasted defeat in front of the Trojan army. The ten years in the hope of entering Troy and return Helen, but this did not happen; all their attempts failed for ten years.

The Greeks thought of a new trick to penetrate the walls of Troy, so they made a wooden Trojan horse; here are the details of this cunning trick...
The Greeks made a giant wooden horse and placed it in front of the gate of the city of Troy as a sign of surrender and as a gift to its people and withdrew to their homes, of course not, it was just a trick for the people of Trojan and persuading them to open the walls, as the Greeks hid with their ships behind a nearby island waiting for the horse to enter the city, and from here two stories appeared:

The first: It indicates that the people of Troy immediately entered the wooden Trojan horse.

The second: indicates the exact opposite, but both accounts end with the destruction of Troy.

Did the battle of Troy happen?

The second narration says that one of the priests of the city had warned the people of Trojan from entering the horse, as he threw a long spear at the horse, and a deep sound similar to a moan sounded from it, so the people of Trojan decided to destroy the horse in anticipation, but this also did not happen. According to the story, gigantic whales appeared that killed the city's priest, which was considered by the people as an indication of the gods' anger at Troy's people not accepting the gift. They then took the horse into the city with beautiful rituals and great joy; of course, the horse was not empty but was full of soldiers, which caused the groaning that we talked about when the priest threw the horse with the spear, as it hit one of the soldiers inside.

How did the battle of Troy end?

When night fell, the soldiers got out of the horse and opened the city gates to the rest of the Greek army, and what happened later is tragic, as the city was completely burned, killing all the men, capturing the women, and imprisoning the children, and with this, the famous Troy war that lasted ten years ended. This is a famous story, but what is the shocking truth?

Many narrations revolve around the Troy War and the extent to which it is real?

the first story: The Trojan horse, may not have been made or used at all since there is no evidence to confirm the existence of that horse except for some literary references, and in this area, there are two beliefs, the first: The Trojan horse symbolizes Poseidon, the god of horses and earthquakes in the Greeks, which means that war may not have taken place; no one knows.

Is the Trojan Horse a real story?

The second belief: that the existence of the Trojan horse is nothing but a mistake in translation according to some researchers, like the famous horse in the myth was a merchant ship called (Hypus) or (Hippos), topped by a large statue of a horse's head as a sign for it, and the word (Hypos) or (Hippos) ) Means horse.

The second story: The entire city of Trojan is not real, which is what scholars disagreed about; while some believe that the city is fictional, others believe that an earthquake destroyed the real city and that the sagas based their story on the cities that built on the ruins of the city of Trojan.

The third story: The characters mentioned in the novels may not exist, especially Queen Helen, who was the cause of this war, as historians have not been able to obtain definitive evidence that the characters are real and lived on this earth, and which reinforces this theory that some do not believe that war may last All this length of time is because of a woman, no one knows.

So, one of the most beautiful events in history, and we have always read about it and believed it. It is probably from fiction and has nothing to do with history, according to researchers.

What is the moral lesson of the Trojan War?

Whether this myth is a fact or just a fiction, but what is certain is that we have learned from it a lesson that generations are still telling to this day, which is the introduction of the term Trojan horse to everything that seems useful, but there is great harm in it. So, to an unknown extent, this incredible period of history may be fiction.
